Family Self-Sufficiency

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a voluntary Section 8 housing program designed to assist families in becoming independent of public assistance. FSS participants achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency through education, job training, supportive services and employment. With the support of local programs and agencies, FSS combines case management and advocacy with the FSS participant's individual plan for education, job training and employment.

Each FSS participant develops a step by step action plan to bring them to the completion of their goals. It is anticipated that through full-time employment, FSS families can become independent of government assistance.

Please contact the FSS Coordinator for additional information.
