CLERMONT METROPOLITAN HOUSING AUTHORITY
The Section 8 Program allows families to live in houses and apartments that are privately owned. Property owners receive no more and no less rent from Section 8 tenants than they receive from the other tenants. This is accomplished through a contract between the Authority and the owner which subsidizes the rent that the Section 8 tenant pays.
Families, elderly, disabled/handicapped people and single people may be eligible for housing.
The Section 8 Program also has a portability component. A Section 8 Voucher issued by the Authority may be used anywhere in the United States, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Families under the Section 8 Program are also eligible to participate in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program.
