Accessible housing assistant as long as you are diligent about checking their website or calling to inquire about open waiting list. They take applications via their website making it more accessible to the public, in my opinion. To obtain a Housing assistance you must be proactive, due to high demand.

Frequently asked questions
Q: I'm homeless. Where do I go to get housed immediately?
A: I am homeless and need assistance right now. Where do I go to get housed immediately?
Clermont Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) does not have an emergency housing program. You can apply for open waiting lists for which your family qualifies by going to www.clermontmha.org.
You may also find subsidized housing by going to HUD’s website to review housing that might be available in the area that is not affiliated with CMHA. The link is https://www.hud.gov/findshelter.
Q: How do I apply for housing through CMHA?
A: You are welcome to apply online for any open waiting list for which your family qualifies by going to www.clermontmha.org. Go to How to Apply for Housing – How to Apply for Housing & Open Waiting Lists. Scroll down to “To apply for the current open waitlists, click here”.
Q: What is the difference between HCV and Public Housing programs?
A:
Q: How long does it take to get an HCV Voucher after applying on the waiting list?
A: While assisting applicant families is based on the availability of funding, CMHA anticipates most waiting times of up to 24 months.
Q: I have a voucher but I cannot find anyone to take it. How do I find a landlord?
A: CMHA recommends utilizing web-based searches with reputable companies like Zillow, affordablehousing.com, or apartmentfinders.com. You can also use the landlord listing on our website www.clermontmha.org or you can also look on our landlord boards in the lobby of our Administrative Office. You may also drive through communities in which you wish to live and look for rental signs.
But be careful! If the deal seems too good to be true, it usually is. You can check ownership of a property by going to the auditor’s page in Clermont County www.clermontauditorrealestate.org to confirm a) the property is a rental property, and b) who is the owner.
Q: I am running out of time on my voucher. How do I request an extension?
A: Prior to the initial 60 days on the voucher, you may put a request for more time in writing to the HCV Manager. They will review the request and send out notification of your extended period. If additional time is needed beyond that initial extension period, CMHA may request documentation as to why more than 120 days was needed to search for housing.
Q: How much do I pay when I move into a unit with my HCV Voucher?
A: Families are required to pay no less than 30% of their adjusted gross income (AGI) but no more than 40% of their AGI to rent and utilities. After the initial move in month, the family may pay different percentages if their income or household composition changes.
Q: How long does it take to get Public Housing after applying on the waiting list?
A: Wait times for public housing can vary from bedroom size to bedroom size. Once a family reaches the top of the waiting list in public housing, they will be offered the next available public housing unit with the requested bedroom size. If the family turns down the unit offered, the family will normally be removed from the waiting list.
Q: How much do I pay when I move into a public housing unit?
A: A family moving into a public housing unit can choose to pay flat rent (which is 80% of the Fair Market Value (FMV) – utilities) or the family can pay 30% of their adjusted gross income (AGI) – utilities.
Q: I have an inspection scheduled for today and I am sick. How can I reschedule?
A: Please contact Ms. Whittley at catherine@clermontmha.org or by calling 513-732-6010 x 225.
